Men’s Tennis Snaps Winning Streak, Falls to No. 7 Case Western Reserve

CLEVELAND – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team had its eight match winning streak come to an end as it fell to No. 7 nationally ranked Case Western Reserve University in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-0 on the Carleton Courts.

Case Western Reserve (23-6) won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches against BW (11-2).
Doubles
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and senior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) fell at first doubles by a score of 6-2
  • Sophomore All-OAC Vinny Cannata (Aurora) and sophomore Tyler Fenton (Williamstown, W.Va.) fell at second doubles by a score of 6-3
  • Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) and freshman Sevie Kretchmar (Vermillion) fell at third doubles by a score of 6-0
Singles
  • Horvath fell at first singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3
  • Cannata fell at second singles by scores of 6-4, 5-7 and 1-0 (10-8)
  • Fenton fell at third singles by identical scores of 6-0
  • Harders fell at fourth singles identical scores of 6-0
  • Kretchmar fell at fifth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
  • Weingart fell at sixth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-1
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, April 15 when they travel to Wooster for a non-conference match against The College of Wooster on the Wooster Tennis Courts at 4 p.m.
