DELAWARE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team, led by Head Coach
Joe Eby, earned second place at the two-day DIII All-Ohio Outdoor Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University on the George Gauthier Track inside Selby Stadium. They earned 103 points as a team to finish second out of 14 teams.
The top three finishers from each event earned All-Ohio recognition. Nine women's student-athletes were named All-Ohio at this year's championships.
Track Event Highlights
- Sophomore All-Ohio sprinter/hurdler Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas/Bridgeland) finished in second place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.33 seconds. This was only .22 seconds shy of her PR that she set last weekend.
- Moore set a PR in the 200m dash with a time of 24.70 seconds to finish in second place. She now owns the best time in the OAC for both the 100m and 200m dash. In the 200m, she is fifth in the Great Lakes Region and 16th in the nation. Her time is .28 seconds shy of the school record.
- Sophomore All-Ohio sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren/Harding) had an OAC-best 100m hurdles time of 14.42 seconds to finish runner-up in the event. She is now fourth in the Great Lakes Region and 15th in the nation.
Field Event Highlights
- Junior All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) claimed All-Ohio honors with her second-place high jump height of 1.58m (5' 2.25").
- In the pole vault, sophomore Peyton Putnam (Shelby) and sophomore Lucy McChesney (Greensburg, Pa./Salem) both earned All-Ohio honors with first and third place finishes, respectively. They both cleared a height of 3.55m (11' 7.75"), which puts McChesney at third in the OAC, fourth in the region, and 34th nationally.
- McChesney also earned third place in the long jump with a mark of 5.01m (16' 5.25").
- Sophomore All-Ohio thrower Janelle Rominger (Cambridge) earned third place in the hammer throw with a 47.67m (156' 5") throw.
- Freshman All-Ohio thrower Alyssa Francis (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) won the javelin throw and set a PR with a 34.88m (114' 5") throw. She is now third in the OAC and seventh in the region.
Relay Event Highlights
- Moore, senior sprinter Jessica Klonowski (Parma/Holy Name), sophomore sprinter Bri Almasy (Elyria/St. Joseph Academy), and Honzu were named All-Ohio with a 49.05 second finish in the 4x100m relay.
