Jacob Esteves (Wickliffe/St. Edward) has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Region IV All-Region team, and freshman setter
Ethan Gundrum (Cincinnati/McNicholas) earned the recognition of Newcomer of the Year.
Esteves earned his spot on the All-Region team after a season where he led the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League with 333 kills and 3.87 kills per set. He was named the MCVL Offensive Player of the Year and earned his spot on the All-MCVL First Team.
Esteves had a career-best 375.5 points this season to lead the team. His best match in 2026 featured 29 kills in the five-set victory at home over No. 7 UC Santa Cruz (Calif.) on Jan. 31. This season, he earned his first all-conference season award, MCVL Offensive Player of the Week award, Men's Yellow Jacket of the Week recognition, and now All-Region award.
Gundrum was named Region IV Newcomer of the Year after having the best season of any setter in program history. He ranks first at BW for the most assists in a single season with 1,158 in 2026. He stands at second all-time at BW in career assists and will need just under 2,000 more to break the record.
Gundrum was named MCVL Rookie of the Year and MCVL Setter of the Year. He also earned AVCA DIII Player of the Week on February 3 after making a season-best 66 assists in the 3-2 win over No. 7 UC Santa Cruz. The following week, he had eight digs and totaled 12 blocks over two matches to be named MCVL Defensive Player of the Week.
