NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team, led by Head Coach
Joe Eby, is in fourth place out of eight teams after the first day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, hosted by Muskingum University on the Johnson Family Track inside the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex. The Yellow Jackets have 41 points.
The top three finishers in each final event are recognized as Outdoor All-OAC student-athletes. There were six Yellow Jackets named All-OAC and one named OAC Champion.
Track Event Highlights
- Junior All-Ohio sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) qualified for the 400m dash finals with his second-place prelim time of 48.51 seconds.
- Academic All-OAC sprinter Joe Blahovec (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and senior All-Ohio sprinter Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights/Benedictine) both earned personal records in the 100m dash with identical times of 10.78 seconds to qualify for the finals.
- Junior Indoor All-OAC hurdler Samuel Skor (Columbia Station/Columbia) finished second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.57 seconds to qualify for the finals.
- Sophomore All-Ohio sprinter/hurdler Aidan Simmons (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) qualified for the 200m dash finals with a 21.90 second third-place time in the prelims.
Field Event Highlights
- Sophomore thrower Kaden Kiesel (Avon) finished in second place and was named All-OAC in the discus throw with his 43.58m (142' 11") mark.
- Senior All-American sprinter/jumper Kaedan Faggs (Marion/Harding) was named the OAC Champion in the long jump with his 7.08m (23' 2.75") winning jump.
Relay Highlights
- Sophomore All-OAC distance runner Will Prato (Massillon/Jackson), senior All-Ohio distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station/Columbia), freshman distance runner Donavin Brown (Jamestown, N.Y./Southwestern), and sophomore distance runner Nate James (Warren/Harding) became the OAC Champions in the 4x800m relay with a time of 7:41.35.
