Four Women’s Swimming and Diving Student-Athletes Garner CSC Academic All-District Honor

GREENWOOD, Ind.  – Four Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving student-athletes have been selected to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and must have competed in four competitions or finished in the top eight at a conference meet.

Senior stroker Ellen Fox (Willard), sophomore All-American diver Makenna Mincey (Brunswick/Magnificat), sophomore All-OAC diver Emmalie Mitzel (Massillon/Jackson) and freshman All-OAC freestyler Amelia Wands (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) all have earned all-district honors and now advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced on April 28, 2026.

Fox, who garners his second career honor, carries a 3.94 grade point average in nursing.   This season, she set career best times of 33.63 in the 50-yard backstroke, 2:35.50 in the 200-yard backstroke, 2:47.54 in the 200-yard individual medley and 5:50.69 in the 400-yard individual medley.   Out of the pool, Fox is a three-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller Honor Societies.

Mincey, who earns her first career accolade, carries a perfect 4.00 grade point average in mathematics and accounting.  This season, she was the NCAA Division III National Runner-Up in the 1-meter, NCAA Division III Region I Champion in the 1-meter, the Ohio Athletic Conference Diver of the Year, the OAC Champion in the 1-meter and 3-meter and claimed two All-OAC honors.  Mincey became the first BW All-American diver since 2012.  For her career, Mincey is a four-time All-OAC performer.  She is the OAC and school record holder in the 1-meter and 11 dive events with 520.10 points.   Mincey also holds the BW Natatorium record for the 3-meter and 6 dives and 3-meter and 11-dives events. Out of the pool, she is an Academic All-OAC honoree and Dean's List student.

Mitzel, who garners her first career honor, carries a 3.99 grade point average in engineering.  This season, she claimed two All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as she was the runner-up in both the 1-meter and 3-meter.  Mitzel set career bests in the 1-meter and six dives with 265.75 points, 1-meter and 11 dives with 471.85 points and 3-meter and six dives with 225.65 points.  For her career, Mitzel is a four-time All-OAC performer and the 2025 OAC November Diver of the Month.  Out of the pool, she is an Academic All-OAC honoree and a Dean's List student.

Wands, who earns her first career accolade, carries a 3.98 grade point average in finance and data science.  This season, she claimed three All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. Wands set career bests times of 24.49 in the 50-yard freestyle, 55.41 in the 100-yard freestyle, 109.73 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2:11.24 in the 200-yard freestyle.  For her career, Wands is a six-time All-OAC performer.  she is an Academic All-OAC honoree and a Dean's List student.

The Yellow Jackets finished the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 7-4 and a 3-1 mark in the OAC.  BW was the runner-up at the 2026 OAC Championships.
