OBERLIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team competed in both the men's varsity 8k and men's open 8k races at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble, finishing in fourth place and fifth place, respectively.
Through an effort led by sixth-place finisher
Dillon Hach (Medina), the Yellow Jackets finished the varsity race in fourth place out of 26 teams. Coach
Joe Eby's team had five top-50 finishers in the varsity race out of 227 total runners. The open race had the Yellow Jackets taking fifth place out of 17 teams, and junior
Trent Macura (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) led his squad with a 14th place finish out of 180 runners.
Macura earned a personal record and beat his previous best, set in 2023, by 31.7 seconds.
Top BW Finishers (Varsity)
- Hach led the team by finishing in sixth place with a 25:39.2 time. He has placed in the top 20 for three consecutive meets.
- Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) landed in 18th place with a 26:02.9 time.
- Junior Gabe Ghering (Sunbury / Big Walnut) placed 30th with a 26:25.4 finish.
Top BW Finishers (Open)
- Macura led the Jackets in the open race with his PR time of 27:34.00 in 14th place.
- Sophomore Caden Buccier (Cleveland / Cuyahoga Heights) finished in 28th place with a 28:11.8 time.
- Sophomore Nick Swartz (Marion / Pleasant) took 34th place with a time of 28:28.7.
