BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country junior
Dillon Hach (Medina) qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championship following his placement at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional 8k race on Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
Hach ran a 25:23.6 time in the 8k on Saturday morning to lead the Yellow Jackets in 11th place out of 272 runners. He finished one place higher than his previous competition at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park, which was on October 4 in the Louisville Classic. This led to a fourth-place team finish – the highest placement for BW in Head Coach
Joe Eby's tenure with the program.
Hach is the first Yellow Jacket to qualify for the NCAA National Championship race since 2011 when Ken Janosko qualified with a sixth-place finish in the NCAA Regional race.
Hach was BW's top finisher this season in the last four meets of the season, including a fifth-place finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship. He helped his team to a first-place finish in the Allegheny (Pa.) Classic, which was the first time BW outright won a race since 2017. His career-best 8k time of 25:22.8 was set at the Louisville Classic, which was a 25-second improvement over his previous best time.
