GREENWOOD, Ind. – Six Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer student-athletes have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Academic All-District Team.
In order to qualify for the Academic All-District feat, a student must be a sophomore academically and athletically, must have a 3.50 grade-point average or higher, and must have competed in 90 percent of the team's games.
Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Owen Reyes (North Olmsted) has earned this award for the second consecutive year, having it alongside first-time recipients Senior Academic All-OAC midfielders Mathew Skladany (Cleveland/St. Edward) and Ben McCauley (Tallmadge), Senior Academic All-OAC forward Mike Kane (Kent/Hudson, junior midfielder Cimi Halilaj (Westlake) and sophomore defender Jacek Gomez (Avon Lake).
Gomez, who earns his first career accolade, carries a 3.68 grade point average in engineering. This season, he appeared in 19 games with 12 starts. Gomez recorded one assist for one point. In his career, Gomez has appeared in 29 games and has tallied two assists for two points.
Halilaj, who garners earns his first career honor, carries a 3.63 grade point average in computer science. This season, he played in 19 games with six starts. Halilaj tallied one goal and one assist for three points. For his career, Halilaj has played in 53 games and has recorded four goals and added three assists for 11 points. He was named the BW Offensive Player of the Year in 2024.
Kane, who earns his first career accolade, carried 3.70 grade point average in digital marketing and sport management. This season, he played in all 21 games with five starts and 10 shots. For his career, Kane appeared in 78 games with 46 starts. He recorded 10 goals and added four assists for 24 points. Off the field, Kane is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
McCauley, who garners his first career honor, carried a 3.75 grade point average in exercise science. This season, he appeared and started in 20 games. McCauley took three shots, including one on goal. He was named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference second team. For his career, McCauley appeared in 67 games with 51 starts. He tallied six assists for six points. Off the field, McCauley is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Reyes, who earns his second career accolade, carried a 3.85 grade point average in sport management. This season, he appeared in 20 games with 13 starts. Reyes tied for the team lead with four goals. He added one assist for a total of team second best nine points. For his career, Reyes appeared in 77 games with 64 starts. He tallied 14 goals and two assists for 30 points. Off the field, Reyes is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree, Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Division III Academic All-Ohio second team selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Skladany, who garners his first career honor, carried a 3.50 grade point average in exercise science. This season, he appeared and started in all 21 games. Skladany tied for the team lead with four goals, including his first career hat trick versus Geneva (Pa.) College on September 6. He added three assists for a team leading 11 points. Skladany named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference third team. For his career, Skladany appeared in59 games with 45 starts. He recorded nine goals and 10 assists for 28 points. Off the field, Skladany is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
BW finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 7-12-2 and an OAC mark of 3-4-1. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament quarterfinals.
