Men's Soccer Announces 2025 Team Award Recipients

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer Head Coach Reid Ayers and his staff have announced the team award recipients for the 2025 season.

Junior midfielder Braden Lamb (Cleveland/Lutheran West) was awarded the team Most Valuable Player after playing and starting in 20 games. He had one goal and four assists for six points on the season. He also took 20 shots with six of them being on goal. Lamb had three consecutive games with at least one assist and his six points were tied for third on the team. He earned his first varsity letter this fall.

Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Mathew Skladany (Cleveland/St. Edward) was named the Offensive Player of the Year. He played and started all 21 games this season. He had four goals and three assists for 11 total points this season, including a three-goal game at Geneva on September 3. Skladany also took a team-leading 41 shots with 18 of them coming on goal. He additionally earned his fourth varsity letter this fall.

Senior Academic All-OAC midfielder Ben McCauley (Tallmadge) was named the team Defensive Player of the Year in 20 games and started each of them. Throughout the season he took three shots and one of them was on goal. The two-time Academic All-Conference honoree earned his fourth varsity letter this fall.

Freshman defender Thomas Getz (Hamburg, N.Y.) was awarded the Rookie of the Year after appearing in 19 games and starting 18 of them. He had two assists for two total points this season. He also took six shots with two of them coming on goal. Getz earned his first varsity letter this fall.

Senior Academic All-OAC forward Mike Kane (Kent/Hudson) was named the BW Player's Player of the Year which recognizes outstanding leadership both on and off the field. He appeared in 21 games and started five of them. He had one goal to score a total of two points throughout the season. He also took 10 shots with six of them being on goal. Kane earned his fourth varsity letter this fall.

BW finished the season with a 7-12-2 overall record and a 3-4-1 mark in the OAC.
