ASHLAND, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team dropped a non-conference meet to NCAA Division II Ashland University in a non-conference dual meet by a final score of 192-46 in the Messerly Natatorium inside the Rybolt Recreation Center.
Individuals
- Freshman diver Malcom Thompson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) won the 1-meter and was second in the 3- meter with 242.33 and 255.08 points, respectively.
- Senior stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro) was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke and fourth in the 400-yard individual medley in times of 58.24 and 5:00.00, respectively
- Sophomore stroker Danny Murphy (Herndon. Va./South Lakes) was third in the 100-yard butterfly, fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke and eighth in the 50-yard freestyle in times of 55.88, 1:07.12 and 23.72, respectively
- Senior Academic All-OAC freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) was fifth in the 1000-yard freestyle and sixth in the 500-yard freestyle in times of 11:25.41 and 5:30.40
- Sophomore freestyler Mason Carnahan (Willard) was eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:00.10
- Freshman freestyler Xavier Hatfield (North Royalton) was eighth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.06
Relays
- The 400-yard medley squad of Szuch, Carnahan, freshman stroker Aidan Bacon (Upper Sandusky) and Hatfield took third in a time of 4:06.50
- The 400-yard freestyle team of Meyer, Thompson, junior stroker Alex Cooper (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) and junior stroker Michael Gruber III (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) was third in a time of 4:09.39
BW (2-3) is back in action on Saturday, November 15 when it travels to Alliance for an OAC dual meet against the University of Mount Union in the Hammond Natatorium inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex at 1 p.m.
