BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams, under the leadership of veteran head coach
Laura Demaline, are poised for an exciting 2025–26 campaign as they set their sights on the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship.
On the men's side
Coach Demaline, who enters her 15th season, returns one All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer and one Academic All-OAC honoree from last year's squad that placed fourth at the 2025 OAC Championships.
All-OAC Returner
- Senior stroker Tyler Warner (Mexico, N.Y.) earned his first career All-OAC honor as he took second in the 1-meter and 11-dive event, in his first season on the board. In addition, he set a career-best time in the 1650-yard freestyle.
Veteran Men Returners
For the women's squad,
Coach Demaline and her staff, who were the 2025 OAC Women's Coaching Staff of the Year, welcome back the OAC Female Diver of the Year, seven All-OAC performers and three Academic All-OAC honorees from last year's team that took second at the 2025 OAC Championships.
All-OAC Returners
- Sophomore Makenna Mincey (Brunswick/Magnificat) is the returning OAC Diver of the Year. Mincey won the 1-meter and was the runner-up in the 3-meter to earn conference accolades in both events. She set the BW Natatorium record in the 1-meter for 11-dives.
- Sophomore Emmalie Mitzel (Massillon/Jackson) was the runner-up in the 1-meter and took third in the 3-meter to earn league honors in both events. Mitzel was also the OAC Diver of the Month for November.
- Junior Ella Steen (Madison/Riverside) claimed her third league accolade as she took third in the 1-meter. Steen was the champion in the 1-meter and took third in the 3-meter in 2024 to earn her first two conference honors.
- Sophomore Brooke Radcliff (North Canton/Hoover) placed third in the 200-yard backstroke to earn her first league accolade. Radcliff also earned conference honors as a member of four relay teams, including the school-record holding 200-yard freestyle.
- Senior Mallory Upcraft (Oswego, N.Y.) earned three league honors as a member of three relay teams, including the school-record holding 200-yard freestyle.
- Sophomore Amelia Wands (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) earned three conference honors as a member of three relay teams, including the school-record holding 200-yard freestyle. Wands was also the OAC Swimmer of the Week on October 21.
- Senior Ariel Lisy (Strongsville) claimed her first league honor as a member of 400-yard freestyle relay team in 2024.
Veteran Women Returners
BW opens the 2025-26 season on Saturday, October 18 when it hosts an OAC dual meet against Wilmington College in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 1 p.m.
