MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team earned first place out of 13 competing squads in the 8k race at the Allegheny Coillege Classic.
Head Coach Joe Eby led the Yellow Jackets to their first win since September 23, 2017 at the Hornet Harrier Invitational. Senior
Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) was the first BW finisher in third place, and junior
Dillon Hach (Medina) finished only four seconds behind him in fourth place. The Jackets had four more runners finishing in the top 20 out of a pool of 186 total runners.
Top BW Finishers
- Sikorski's third place finish of 27:11 was only 10 seconds behind the meet champion. Sam has now finished in the top 10 at all three of this season's meets with today being his highest placement.
- Hach finished the 8k in fourth place with his 27:15 time. Today's fourth-place finish was his highest of the season.
- Junior Sage Egan (Toledo / Ottawa Hills) landed in 12th place with his 27:50 finish. This was his second top 20 placement this season.
- Junior Gabe Ghering (Sunbury / Big Walnut) finished in 28:02 while earning 15th place.
- Will Prato (Massillon / Jackson) had a time of 28:07 while finishing in 18th place. This was the sophomore's first appearance in the top 20 this fall.
- Andrew Piehler (Medina) took 19th place with a time of 28:10.
