BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field junior thrower Kitar Olsen (Whitefish, Mont.) has been named the Yellow Jacket Men's Athlete of the Month for December 2025.

To be considered for the monthly honor, a male or female student-athlete must have been nominated for at least one Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) weekly award in his or her respective sport. From the pool of nominees, members of the Athletic Communications staff, together with student assistants from the department's social media team, select the monthly winner.

Olsen shined at the indoor season opener on December 6 in the Spartan Holiday Classic at Case Western Reserve University. He earned first place in the weight throw with a 19.33m (63' 5") throw, which was 0.93m better than his previous PR. Olsen outthrew the runner up by more than four meters and holds the best mark in the OAC in the weight throw. His throw also ranked second overall in NCAA Division III at the start of the indoor season.

In 2025, Olsen finished his sophomore season by competing in the hammer throw in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He placed 18th in the event with a 54.37m (178' 4") throw. His national qualifying throw came in May when he had a 58.62m (192' 4") hammer throw while earning a PR.

Olsen is a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, a CSC Academic All-District honoree, and an Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete. He is a cybersecurity major and a Dean's List student at BW.
