AKRON, Ohio – Freshman diver
Malcolm Thompson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) earned Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Diver of the Year honors as the Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team placed fourth at the 2026 OAC Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union inside the Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of NCAA Division I University of Akron.
BW was fourth of five teams with 305 points. Ohio Northern University was the champion with 980.5 points.
Individuals
- Sophomore stroker Danny Murphy (Herndon, Va./South Lakes) placed seventh in the 200-yard butterfly in a career-best time of 1:59.28
- Senior stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro) was ninth in the 200-yard backstroke in a of 2:00.26
- Senior Academic All-OAC freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) was 10th in the 1650-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 18:01.61
- Sophomore stroker Mason Carnahan (Willard) was 10th in the 200-yard breaststroke in a career-best time of 2:22.28
- Freshman freestyler Xavier Hatfield (North Royalton) was 15th in the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best time of 54.37
Diving
- Thompson, who becomes the second straight OAC Diver of the Year, won the 3-meter with a career-best total of 479.70 points. He won the 1-meter on Friday night to sweep the events and earn two All-OAC honors
Relays
- The 400-yard freestyle team of Meyer, Carnahan, junior stroker Michael Gruber III (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) and Murphy took fourth in a time of 3:22.83
