Clare Alic (
Carmel, Ind./Guerin Catholic) and freshman goalkeeper
Aubrey Berner (Columbus/Dublin Coffman) have been named the OAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
The duo earns the weekly honors after leading BW to a pair of season-opening non-conference victories last week with an 8-6 victory over crosstown rival John Carroll University last Wednesday and a thrilling come from 12-11 victory over Kenyon College last Saturday.
Alic, who garners her third career accolade, scored 11 goals over the two games. Against John Carroll, she netted four goals, including three in the fourth quarter. In the game with Kenyon,
Alic scored a game-high seven goals.
For her career,
Alic has appeared in 29 games with 28 starts. She has scored 98 goals and added 28 assists for 126 points.
Alic has collected 54 ground balls and has caused 22 turnovers. She is a two-time All-OAC first team selection and the 2024 OAC Rookie of the Year.
Off the field, she is an Academic All-OAC honoree.
Berner earns her first weekly honor after allowing 17 goals and recording 18 saves in her first two career starts. She faced 48 shots and had a .514 save percentage.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, March 4 when they travel to nearby Wooster for a non-conference game against The College of Wooster inside John P. Papp Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
