Four Softball Student-Athletes Selected to All-OAC Team

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Four Baldwin Wallace University softball student-athletes have been named to the 2026 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team.

Senior first baseman/designated player Avery Curran (Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA/Resurrection Catholic) was named to the first team.  Senior second baseman Sabrina Burke (London) and senior left fielder Sam Peterkoski were selected to the second team.  Senior center fielder Steph Mraz (Strongsville) was tabbed as honorable mention.

Curran garners her first career accolade after having a career season.  She appeared in 30 games with 27 starts. Curran led the team and was third in the OAC in batting with a career-high .463 average (38-of-82.). She also led the squad and was seventh in the league with a career-best 33 runs batted-in (RBIs).  Curran was second on the team and third in the conference with a career-high nine homeruns.  She also tallied career-bests in doubles with five, runs scored 29 and walks with 14.  In the field, Curran posted career-highs of 94 putouts and five assists.  She was named the OAC Hitter of the Week on April 13, Yellow Jacket Female Athlete of the Week on March 25 and April 14 and Yellow Jacket April Female Athlete of the Month on May 6.  For her career, Curran has appeared in 36 games with 29 starts.  She is batting .435 (40-of-92) with nine homeruns, five doubles, 29 runs scored, 34 RBIs and 14 walks.  In the field, Curran has recorded 108 putouts and six assists.

Burke earns her first career honor after appearing and starting in all 33 games.  She had a career-season as she posted career-bests in batting average with a .346 average (37-of-107), runs scored 26, walks with 12, RBIs with 14, stolen bases with 10, triples with five, doubles with five and homeruns with one.  Burke led the team in triples, ranked third in hitting and hits and was tied for third in runs scored.  In the field, she recorded career-highs with 88 putouts and 54 assists.   Burke was named the Yellow Jacket Female Athlete of the Week on March 20.   For her career, Burke appeared in 122 games with 79 starts.  She batted .286 (55-of-192) with three doubles, five triples, one homerun, 68 runs scored, 16 RBIs, 18 walks and 30 stolen bases.  In the field, Burke tallied 162 putouts and 104 assists.  Off the diamond, she is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Peterkoski garners her second straight accolade after being a first team honoree last year.  This season, she appeared and started in all 33 games.  Peterkoski led the team in hits with 45 and stolen bases with 11. She was second on the team with a .395 batting average (45-of-114) and tied for second in doubles with a career-high seven.  Peterkoski also ranked third in runs scored with 26, tied for fourth in walks with a career-best tying 11 and fifth in RBIs with 17.  She recorded 38 putouts and a career-high tying two assists.  For her career, Peterkoski appeared and started in 70 games.  She batted .467 (114-of-244) with 13 doubles, two triples, one homerun (an inside the park), 68 runs scored, 42 RBIs, 22 walks and 27 stolen bases.  In the field, Peterkoski tallied 111 putouts and four assists.  She was the 2025 OAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year, 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region VII first team selection and a 2025 OAC All-Tournament Team honoree.

Mraz earns her second career honor after being a second team selection in 2023.  This season, she appeared and started in all 33 games.  Mraz led the team in doubles with a career-high eight.  She also ranked second in RBIs with 3, third in stolen bases with four, fourth in hits with 33, fourth in hitting with a .333 batting average (33-of-99) and fifth in runs scored with 23.  Mraz also tallied a career-best 11 walks, a career-high three homeruns and one triple. In the field, she recorded 58 putouts and two assists.  For her career, Mraz appeared in 133 games with 129 starts.  She batted .339 (136-of-401) with 21 doubles, six triples, five homeruns, 73 runs scored, 73 RBIs, 17 walks and 49 stolen bases.  In the field, Mraz tallied 222 putouts with nine assists.  Off the diamond, she is an Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

BW finished the 2026 season with an overall record of 20-13 and a 10-6 mark in the OAC.  The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament quarterfinals.
