Women’s Basketball Welcomes Back Steve Oliver as Assistant Coach

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace Women's Basketball Head Coach Cheri Harrer has named Steve Oliver an assistant coach for the women's basketball program.

Oliver returns to BW after serving as a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball team from 2022-24. He was part of a staff that accomplished a 44-13 record, two NCAA Tournament appearances, and a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2024.

Oliver began as a student assistant coach with the Geneva College men's basketball program where he helped the Golden Tornadoes to their first Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship game appearance in school history.

Most recently, Oliver spent the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at the University of Mount Union, where he helped the Purple Raiders to an 18-9 record and a berth in the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament semifinals. Prior to Mount Union, he served as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations at the University of the Incarnate Word, where the Cardinals finished 18-13 and earned an at-large selection to the WNIT Tournament.

A native of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and graduate of Blackhawk High School, Oliver holds a Bachelor of Science in sport management from Geneva College and a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in leadership in higher education from Baldwin Wallace.
