McQueary Earns Second Career OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC stroker Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Park) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the second this season and the second time in his career.

McQueary earns the weekly accolade after winning three individual events and finishing second as a member of one relay team as BW fell to Oberlin College in a non-conference and Seniors' Day meet last Saturday.

He won the 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard individual medley in times of 23.30, 52.08 and 54.04, respectively.  McQueary also was the third leg on the 200-yard medley relay team that took second in a time of 1:38.21.

This season, he has won 14 individual races, been the runner-up in one race and a third place finished in one race.  McQueary has also been a part of three winning and three runner-up relay teams.

For his career, McQueary is the two-time defending OAC Champion in the 200-yard butterfly and a three-time All-OAC performer.  He holds the school-record in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly.  McQueary is also a member of the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle school-record holding relay teams.
 
Out of the pool, he is a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree, Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, January 18 when they travel to Ada for an OAC dual match against Ohio Northern University inside the ONU Sports Center Natatorium at 1 p.m.  BW closes out the regular season portion of its schedule on Friday, January 24 when it hosts an OAC dual meet against crosstown rival John Carroll University at 6 p.m.
