Men's Basketball Picked Fifth in OAC Preseason Coaches' Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team has been selected to finish fifth in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) preseason coaches' poll.

The Yellow Jackets come into the season with 34 points in the poll. Leading the way is Mount Union at 64 points. Trailing them are Marietta, Muskingum, and Otterbein at 53, 47 and 44 points which sees BW coming in the middle of the pack in the nine schools in the conference.

Led by head coach Tom Heil in his 11th season at the helm, the Brown and Gold return four Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference members and one All-OAC second team honoree from a team that went 10-15 overall and 6-12 in the conference. The team aims to improve on this mark and is in search of their first winning season since 2021-22, when they finished 15-10 overall and 9-7 in OAC play.

BW starts the 2025-26 season on Friday, November 7 when it hits the road to play the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. The game is set to tip-off at 7 p.m. The home opener is scheduled for November 10, when the team plays host to Washington & Jefferson College. This game is also scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and it will be one of two home games they have throughout November, with the other coming against Hiram two days before the Thanksgiving holiday on November 25.
