BEREA, Ohio – Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Midfielder
Mathew Skladany (Cleveland/St. Edward) has been named the Yellow Jacket Men's Athlete of the Month for September and October 2025.
To be considered for the monthly honor, a male student-athlete must have been nominated for at least one Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) weekly award in his respective sport but not have received the weekly accolade. From the pool of nominees, members of the Athletic Communications staff, together with student assistants from the department's social media team, select the monthly winner.
The fourth-year player's most notable accomplishment this season and throughout his time wearing the colors of Brown and Gold came on September 3 at Geneva College (Pa.) when he scored three goals in a 4-3 victory over the Golden Tornadoes.
For the 2025 regular season,
Skladany played in all 20 games and had four goals and three assists. Outside of the three-goal game early in the season,
Skladany's most notable achievement is having three consecutive games with at least one assist September 27, October 4 and 8 against Capital and Ohio Northern.
In his BW career,
Skladany has appeared in 58 games and scored nine goals and dished out 10 assists. In the classroom, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC student and heads into career game number 59 with a chance to have BW be one of the final four teams remaining in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.
