WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball senior guard
Leah Riley (Cincinnati / Sycamore) earned her first Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week recognition of her career.
Coming off of a junior season where she scored 31 points total through 17 appearances,
Riley dropped 30 points in Saturday's 106-60 blowout of Muskingum. This mark was a career best and doubled her previous career best of 15 points that she set in mid-November against Wooster in the Nan Nichols Classic. She was named to the Nan Nichols All-Tournament team following her 15-point game too.
Riley's 30 points were the most points scored in a single game by any Yellow Jacket this season. She is now the co-owner of the most points scored in a game in the OAC this fall. The hot shooter went 7-7 from deep, 10-11 from the field, and 3-3 from the free throw line on Saturday. BW with 106 points now owns the single-game high in points scored in any OAC game this season above two teams who scored 89 points.
Riley's night also helped the Jackets complete a 2-0 start to the OAC calendar after defeating the Mount Union Purple Raiders last Tuesday 54-52 in Berea.
