Meyer Garners First Career OAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) has been named the OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career.

Meyer brings home his first weekly accolade after winning two individual races and being a member of one winning relay team as BW defeated Bluffton University in a non-conference meet and Heidelberg University in an OAC meet last Saturday.

He won the won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:58.33 and the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 5:22.97.  Meyer was the anchor of the winning 200-yard medley relay team that finished in a time of 1:45.84.

This season, he has posted season-best times of 51.50 in the 100-yard freestyle, 1:52.50 in the 200-yard freestyle and 11:25.41 in the 1000-yard freestyle.
Meyer has career-best times of 32.80 in the 50-yard backstroke, 24.72 in the 50-yard freestyle, 51:10 in the 100-yard freestyle, 1:50.11 in the 200-yard freestyle, 5:02.22 in the 500-yard freestyle, 11:033.33 in the 1000-yard freestyle and 17:50.77 in the 1650-yard freestyle.

Out of the pool, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, January 17 when they host an OAC and Seniors' Day meet against Ohio Northern University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 1 p.m.
