WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference guard
Leah Riley (Cincinnati/Sycamore) has earned the OAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the second time in her career.
Riley garnered this accolade after leading the Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 week while earning MVP honors at the BW Holiday Classic on December 29-30. She was the leading scorer in the 73-36 victory over Stevenson (Md.) with 12 points. Against Case Western Reserve, she had 18 points and shot 60.0% from the field to help BW win the Holiday Classic. When facing Penn State Behrend (Pa.),
Riley collected 12 points and four assists while going a perfect 6-6 from the line.
This season,
Riley now holds a 44.8% field goal percentage, 91.7% free throw percentage, and 41.5% three-point percentage. She earned her first career OAC recognition on December 8 following her 30-point performance over Muskingum. The Women's Yellow Jacket of the Week recognition was bestowed upon
Riley on December 9. She was also named to The College of Wooster Nan Nichols Classic All-Tournament Team on November 15. The guard averages 9.4 points per game off the bench and is second on the team in scoring with 122 points this season.
For her career,
Riley has appeared in 82 games and has collected 378 points, 118 rebounds, 80 assists, 43 steals, and five blocks.
Off the court, she is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
