BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball senior guard
Leah Riley (Cincinnati / Sycamore) has been named the Yellow Jacket Women's Athlete of the Month for December 2025.
To be considered for the monthly honor, a male or female student-athlete must have been nominated for at least one Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) weekly award in his or her respective sport. From the pool of nominees, members of the Athletic Communications staff, together with student assistants from the department's social media team, select the monthly winner.
Riley began December with a career-best 30 points in a 106-60 thumping of Muskingum on December 6. She scored a perfect 7-7 from deep, 3-3 from the foul line, and 10-11 from the field to solidify a career game. This mark doubled her previous best of 15 points that she scored in November against The College of Wooster.
The Yellow Jackets went undefeated in December through seven games, and
Riley was the top scorer in three of them. At the end of the month,
Riley led the team to win the BW Holiday Classic with victories over Stevenson (Md.) and Case Western Reserve. She scored 12 points in the 73-36 win over the Mustangs and 18 points against the Spartans for a 76-52 victory.
Riley was named to the BW Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team and awarded the most valuable player recognition.
