Mincey Captures 1-Meter Title, Qualifies for NCAA Division III Diving Championships

KALAMAZOO, Mich -- Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference diver Makenna Mincey (Brunswick/Magnificat) qualified for the NCAA Division III Diving National Championships by winning the 1-meter title at the NCAA Region 1 Championships, hosted by Kalamazoo College inside the Kalamazoo Natatorium.

The top nine divers from the combined 1-meter and 3-meter events qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships.

Mincey was the Region 1 Champion in the 1-meter with a total of 454.25 points.   She was 17th in the 3-meter with a total of 368.15 points.

This season, Mincey claimed her second consecutive OAC Diver of the Year Award, second straight OAC 1-meter championship and was the OAC 3-meter champions.  She now has four career All-OAC honors.

Mincey will be back in action on Thursday, March and Saturday, March 21 when she travels to Indianapolis, Indiana to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Franklin College at the University of Indiana Natatorium.
