WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior right-handed pitcher Matt Moscarino (Strongsville/Padua Franciscan) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career.
Moscarino was the starting and winning pitcher in a duel that saw the Yellow Jackets come out on top by a score of 2-0. He threw eight innings of shutout baseball and allowed just four hits. He struck out seven and also issued one walk while throwing 98 pitches. For the season, Moscarino has made three starts and owns a 4.24 ERA, a 2-0 win-loss record and 14 strikeouts. The game marked the first time this season in which he allowed no runs.
For his career, the righty has appeared in 25 games and started 14 of them. He has worked for 98 ? innings, has 77 strikeouts, a 3.92 ERA, and a 7-1 win-loss record. The eight-inning start is additionally the first time he has thrown more than seven innings in his entire three-season BW career. Moreover, his seven strikeouts are also the most he's had in a game, topping his previous career-best of six on two different occasions, most recent against Case Western Reserve on April 29, 2025.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, March 8 as they travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to begin a spring break road trip where they will play Haverford (Pa.) College first. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
