BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball senior
Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla.) has been named the Yellow Jacket Women's Athlete of the Month for September and October 2025.
To be considered for the monthly honor, a female student-athlete must have been nominated for at least one Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) weekly award in her respective sport but not have received the weekly accolade. From the pool of nominees, members of the Athletic Communications staff, together with student assistants from the department's social media team, select the monthly winner.
Blazetic's senior season has featured a remarkable climb in the record books for career assists among other achievements. On October 4, the setter surpassed 2,000 career assists, a feat that only seven other Yellow Jackets have ever accomplished. She now sits at 2,342 assists, which is only 18 shy of being No. 7 all-time.
In the first half of the season,
Blazetic recorded a season-best 48 assists against Penn State Behrend (Pa.) and a career-best nine service aces against Adrian College (Mich.) on September 26. She showed her dynamic abilities on October 24 when she made 24 digs in a match against Marietta College.
Blazetic has been a leader both on her team and in the OAC this season. The setter ranks No. 1 in total assists with her 949 assists this fall. Her 48 service aces also ranks No. 1 in total aces in the conference.
Blazetic has helped her team earn 10 three-set sweeps out of their 15 victories. With a 5-3 OAC record, she will lead the Jackets as the No. 4 seed in the OAC Tournament, their first home tournament match since 2018.
