Softball Tabbed Second in 2026 OAC Coaches Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University softball team has been picked to finish second in the 2026 Ohio Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll.

BW, who won its first ever OAC regular season title last season, was second with 54 points and two first place votes.  The University of Mount Union, who won last year's tournament title, was selected first with 61 points and six first place votes.  Muskingum University was tabbed third with 53 points and one first place vote.  Marietta College comes in fourth placed with 34 points.   Rounding out the top five was Ohio Northern University with 32 points.

Head Coach Tom Spencer, who is in his 22nd season, and the rest of the 2025 OAC Coaching Staff of the Year welcome back two All-OAC selections, including the OAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year, and five Academic All-OAC honorees.

The 2025 team posted an outstanding 32–6 overall record and a dominant 15–1 mark in OAC play, setting the school record for wins in a season. The Yellow advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the second consecutive year.

BW opens the 2026 season on Monday, March 9, with a pair of non-conference games against Lakeland (Wis.) University and Nebraska Wesleyan University on the opening day of the Space Coast Games in Melbourne, Florida.
