WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse junior First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference faceoff specialist
Evan Vetter (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) has earned the OAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the fourth time in his career and the third time this season.
Vetter won 39 out of 44 faceoff attempts (88.6%) in the Yellow Jackets' two OAC victories over Mount Union and Otterbein last week. The Academic All-OAC faceoff specialist went 20 for 23 (87.0%) in faceoffs in the 25-4 victory over Mount Union while collecting a career-high 14 ground balls. He improved to win 90.5% of faceoffs against Otterbein, going 19 for 21 and again collecting 14 ground balls. This 28-6 win over the Cardinals also featured a goal and assist from
Vetter.
Vetter now owns the best faceoff percentage in BW history at 61.7% (539 for 874). He is also second in program history in total faceoffs won (539) and faceoffs taken (874).
Vetter leads the OAC with 122 ground balls and 8.71 ground balls per game and has the most faceoffs won with 208.
