Vaillant Garners First Career OAC Softball Hitter of the Week Accolade

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University softball junior first baseman/designated player Lexie Vaillant (Bowling Green/Perrysburg) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the first time in her career.

Vaillant brings home her first weekly honor after batting .538 (7-of-13) with three homeruns, five runs scored, seven runs batted-in (RBIS) and three walks in BW's three of four OAC victories last week.  

In a doubleheader split with Heidelberg University last Wednesday, she batted .571 (4-of-7) with two RBIs.   In the sweep of Ohio Northern University last Saturday, Vaillant hit .500 (3-of-6) with three homeruns, five runs scored, five RBIs and three walks.  

This season, she has appeared and started in 25 games.  Vaillant is hitting .348 (24-of-69) with five doubles, an OAC third best tying eight homeruns, 25 RBIs and 12 walks.
For her career, Vaillant has appeared in 44 games with 26 starts.  She is batting .337 (30-of-89) with eight homeruns, six doubles, 19 runs scored, 27 RBIs and 13 walks.  In the field, Vaillant has tallied 109 putouts and one assist.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Monday, April 27 for a rescheduled doubleheader against Geneva College on the Bill and Rita Conrady Softball Field inside the Merriman Athletic Complex at 3:30 p.m.
