WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country junior runner Michael Dorris and women's cross country freshman runner Katherine Kaster have been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Runners of the Week this week. This is the first career OAC runner of the week recognition for both athletes.

Dorris ran a personal record 6k time of 21:12.4 while earning first place to start the season at the Wooster College Invitational. His time was good for a sub 5:42 mile pace. Dorris finished more than eight seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Kaster made her collegiate debut in the 4k race at the Wooster College Invitational with a first-place time of 16:24.1. She ran an average mile time of 6:35 and crossed the finish line seven seconds ahead of the runner-up.

These two standouts reflected the success of both the men's and women's squads at Wooster. The men earned each of the top five spots in the 48-runner 6k race. Women's cross country claimed six out of the seven top spots in the 23-runner 4k race.

Dorris is an Academic All-OAC student-athlete studying engineering. He is also a Dean's List student and a Yellow Jacket Scholar. Kaster is undecided but hopes to go to law school or work in the state department.

Cross country will return to competition at the Michigan State Pre-Regional on Friday, September 11 in East Lansing, Michigan on the Forest Akers East Golf Course.
